The College has established an anti-ragging cell on the campus as per the guidelines of UGC. Ragging is a form of violation of human rights and a very heinous crime which needs to be heavily punished under the law.
Our college has zero tolerance policy towards the act of ragging. We do not tolerate measure or minor misconduct situation to pass unnoticed. The students get punished as per the UGC guidelines.
The first important task of the Anti-Ragging Cell is to create awareness among students, being the head of the institution along with the unit members. They create awareness about ragging and indiscipline during the first-year induction program. Members of this cell take charge of maintaining discipline in college, making the campus free from eve-teasing and taking note of any kind of errant behaviour of the students.
In every college there is a statutory body which is mandatorily made by the UGC to prevent and address any kind of ragging and ensuring safe and respectful campus environment. The key function and responsibility of the cell is to prevent ragging and start different awareness programmes to educate students about the consequences of ragging. Such steps help to promote a healthy and positive environment in the campus.
The Anti-Ragging Instructors are always vigilant and monitor the campus. Pick any signs of ragging and take strict and prompt action to deal with the situation. As in when needed support in counselling services are provided to the victims to ensure the well-being and safety of their mental and physical health. When it is necessary, proper investigation is done to report incidents of ragging, and this helps to take necessary disciplinary action against those students who are found guilty.
Ensures the student maintains discipline inside and outside of the classroom and campus, and when found guilty, strict action is taken against the students over their harsh behavior. Different awareness programs develop positivity on the campus, and students enjoy their ragging-free campus. Students are free to approach Anti-Ragging Counsellors, the anti-ragging cell, or any faculty member when they witness any kind of raging or experience the same by themselves.
Educating students about ragging and providing awareness associated with the punishment raised towards ragging incidents is important. The cell ensures a disciplined environment and makes sure the newly admitted students know about ragging and its consequences. Every college has an empty racking unit that preserves a ragging ragging-ragging-free environment within the campus.
Any act of indiscipline teasing or handling with rudeness falls under ragging. Any activity that causes annoyance, psychological harm, and fear among students. In such situations, the cell prohibits such actions and situations, including students.
The anti-ragging committee shall make appropriate decisions and import proper punishment depending on the facts and circumstances of the incident operating and take into consideration the gravity of the incident. When a student is found guilty in front of the committee, one or more punishments are imposed on them.
